If I lived in a metropolitan area or on the West Coast and the Sun started producing as an example a "X1.0" flare and soon afterwards, a "X5.0" flare and then let's suppose a "X13.0" flare, I would grab the kids, pets and basic provisions and would head as fast as safely feasible towards an area far from any urban area! This "chosen destination" should have access to AMPLE shade and fresh water.
If one waits until the estimated "X45.0 plus" eruption that the GOVERNMENT has estimated that the KILL SHOT will be, I would be concerned that "PANIC" may already be setting in once the MEDIAnites begin sounding the alarm, and once all aircraft are required to immediately land as was the case on 9/11/2001!
